Evil vs Evil???
‘i’m not worried, but you should be, because you cannot fight evil with evil.”
Have you ever had a Christian sister or brother say to you,
“sprinkle salt under your bed to keep spirits away” OR
“turn your back when walking into your house late at
night?” OR actually believe that if a black cat crosses your path
it’s seven years of bad luck OR don’t rest your handbag on
the ground cause you would be poor OR the funniest are the ones that
get daily visits from a dead person that has passed on and actually has
conversations with them.
I’m sure we’ve all heard or been told at least one of these
in our lifetime and for most it has actually become a part of our
lifestyle or lingo. Some have even accepted these as part of our
culture, thinking this is some great tradition passed down from
generation to generation. I was wondering should we Christians embrace
such ‘beliefs’ as just traditions or superstition??
After all if I believe in THE God who is able to keep me from danger
seen and unseen, as well as keep ALL evil from my dwelling, why do I
need to walk backwards when entering my home? After all Satan or his
demons and I DO NOT ‘walk’ together or ‘agree’
so they should not even be near my abode.
Besides I’m sure we’ve all watched enough horror movies to
know that ‘demons’ can enter through walls or that
they’re probably turning backwards with us and entering same way.
If thorough research is done you would know that most of these actors
in order to ‘get into character’ would tell you that
they’ve actually chanted, or invoked most of the spirits in order
to make the character ‘COME ALIVE’.
Or what about the believers that have some ‘antidote’ like
something yuh could drink that would heal yuh sickness, or help yuh get
pregnant, or get the job yuh wanted or do I daresay… get the man
yuh wanted to come back or stay.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son
or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or
an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard,
or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto
the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive
them out from before thee.”
